Professor Minoru Tomozawa has been awarded the American Ceramic Society (ACerS) 2019 Edward Orton Jr. Memorial Lecture. He will present the Lecture at the Materials Science & Technology Conference and Exposition (MS&T '19), during the week of September 29 - October 3, 2019, in Portland, Oregon, USA. The prestigious Orton Lecture is given by an individual with a national recognition in their field. It is named in honor of General Edward Orton, Jr., founder of the American Ceramic Society. This Lecture is delivered annually since 1933.

This is another recognition of Prof. Tomozawa's long-term leadership in glass science. Recently, two of his graduate students - Emily M. This award is the highest honor that the Glass and Optical Materials Division of ACerS bestows upon a graduate student, recognizing research excellence in glass science.
